How our furniture is made

Solid-timber sofas, tables and beds, joined by hand and finished with natural oils. These are the four stages every piece goes through.

From board to your home

A dining table takes about five weeks from rough board to your floor. Most of that time is the wood resting, not people working.

  1. Straight, even grain on a white oak board

    Choosing the boards

Timber arrives kiln-dried, then rests in the workshop for six weeks so it settles to our climate before a single cut is made.

    Acclimatised · Graded by hand

  2. Hands fitting a mortise-and-tenon joint at a workbench
    02

    Cutting the joints

Joints are marked from the actual board, not a template, so grain runs continuously across rails, legs and tops.

    Mortise & tenon · Dovetail · Bridle

  3. Oil being worked into the surface of a timber tabletop

    Finishing by hand

Three coats of plant-based oil, rubbed in and cut back between each. It keeps the feel of the wood and is easy to repair.

    Natural oil · No lacquer

    Bringing it home

We call to book a two-hour window, carry the piece in, assemble and level it, and leave you a care kit for the years ahead.
